Sarah was born in Michigan and moved to Florida at the age of three. Since then, she has called Tampa home and considers herself a native. Sarah is the youngest of three children, and the only girl. All three siblings attended FSU, go Noles! Sarah graduated from FSU majoring in hospitality management with a passion for event planning. During her college years, she lived out her dream of moving to NYC for a summer to gain more experience in the event planning industry. Her internship with David Monn, LLC allowed her to have a hands-on experience in a wide variety of prominent events with some of the most prestigious institutions. After graduation, Sarah began her career with the American Heart Association here in Tampa Bay, where she fell in love with mission-based fundraising events for non-profits. Over the past 3 plus years, Sarah started as the Event Specialist for their annual Heart Ball. As a true goal-oriented professional Sarah aimed to take the ball to another level of success with her colleagues, which they did, as it raised the most money out of the past 62 years.
Sarah’s ability to adapt and apply creativity to fundraising was tested during the pandemic. Sarah rose to the challenge and excelled in a new virtual landscape. Sarah’s responsibilities grew as she took on all of American Heart Association events in the Tampa and Southwest Florida areas, which included 3 Heart Walks, 2 luncheons, 2 Heart Balls and additional smaller events. This unprecedented challenge gave Sarah the opportunity to develop her knowledge of a variety of fundraising events and expanded her network with many local community and business leaders.
Sarah said “I had the honor to intern with LiFT during my college years as well. I could not be more excited to return and use my experience to help LiFT grow and make a positive difference in our student’s lives.”
