My name is Janae E. Barnes, I am a Brooklyn (New York) born West Indian – born to parents from Jamaica and Trinidad. I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, intern, full-time employee, and part-time student. PHEW!
My husband, daughter and I moved to the Tampa area almost 5 years ago to live with and look after my dad. He passed away at the end of 2020. He is one of the reasons I went back to school. I am a student at the University of South Florida studying Hospitality Management. Event planning has always been a passion of mine, so this was the next step in my journey. I am a hardworking, multitasking quick learner that faces challenges head-on. I have over 20 years of corporate experience that I will use to succeed at LiFT.
Joining the LiFT development team as an intern is very exciting for me. Not only do I get to work with and learn from great people – I get the opportunity to intern at an amazing organization.
